Background
Join us this Christmas season to walk among the trees at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens and to learn more about them. We will specifically focus on the four different species of Christmas Trees that the park plays host to, while not ignoring the others.
Ideally suited as a morning outing for your family, the walk will introduce many of the avenue trees, the stories behind them and their relationship to other creatures. We will also observe common birds & butterflies, and the little known and seldom observed smaller creatures that one commonly sees in the city.
This walk will help you further develop your interest in wildlife photography, travel writing, and nature sketching by teaching basic identification techniques and introducing you to a wealth of information. The group will be led by naturalists with more than two decades of experience in the field.
Schedule
The walk will start from the base of the rock in Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. We will amble around at leisure around the Botanical gardens, covering as much distance as we can. We will take in the sights and sounds, learning about the avenue trees that dot our city, while not ignoring other living creatures that we encounter. The outing will last for about two and a half hours.
